Feature sneak preview: The new ClickDimensions drag and drop email editor
ClickDimensions releases new versions of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Marketing Automation solution every three months on January 15, April 15, July 15 and October 15. For the upcoming October release ClickDimensions will be delivering a new drag and drop email creation experience. The ClickDimensions drag and drop editor will make the task of creating your email newsletters easier than ever. It even has a fancy built-in image editor that lets you make all sorts of interesting changes to graphics. You can see more about the image editor here. Now let’s take a look at the new editor…
Upon release, you will see a new option for the Drag and Drop editor when you are creating a new email template record…
When the editor is opened in full screen you can begin by selecting a layout from a list of choices…
Let’s choose the 3 column layout. Notice that the design area (the area on the left) changes to reflect the three columns…
Next we’ll select the header cell so we can add an image. Notice that the right side of the screen changes giving us the options to select an image…
Now we’ve added a few images and can easily add and style text and links and see the changes happening to our newsletter in real time…
We can also edit the image using one of many effects from the new image editor. Read more about it here.
Next we will add a new element to the newsletter. Let’s add a horizontal divider. We click the content option on the top left to see a list of the content types we can add to the design. Then we drag and drop the item named ‘divider’ to the design area. Notice the words ‘drop block here’ to indicate exactly where he divider will appear…
With the divider in place we can easily change its colors, thickness, padding and more…
We can also drag and rearrange or easily duplicate other cells with a single click…
We can easily personalize the email with data from CRM…
You get the idea. Very easy to create great looking emails and very easy to change your design as you go!
